The industry environment reports present information on the production, supply and application of fertilizers – and the associated environmental issues. The reports also outline the environment protection measures adopted by the industry.
This industry's first public environment report was based on the status of the industry in 2002 – the year that preceded the signing of an Eco-efficiency Agreement with the Department of the Environment and Heritage. Under that Agreement, the industry was required to prepare three environment reports, and the 2002 report provides the benchmark for future comparison.
The information contained in the reports is supplied by FIFA members via an annual survey. The fertilizer companies who responded to the survey handle most of the fertilizer sold in Australia, through one or more of the following sectors.
· Manufacturing
· Importation
· Distribution
· Sales and Advice
· Spreading.
Further information on many aspects of the industry is available from the website links provided in the reports.
