The level A – Logistics training course has a strong focus on environment and food safety risk management, particularly in relation to handling, transport and storage. Level A is targeted at the operational level. It also raises awareness of OH&S issues.
The core module includes a basic understanding of fertilizer and soil ameliorant products including:
physical identification;
understanding labels;
storage and handling characteristics; and
the main environment and food safety risks.
Level A also has three elective modules of which at least one must be completed:
Spreading;
Storage; and
Transport.
Each of the elective modules covers the environmental issues associated with that part of the logistics chain as well as general principles of best practice operation as detailed in the AFSA Codes of Practice. |

Level A training is delivered at regional locations throughout Australia.
It is currently delivered as a one day workshop combined with workplace assessment involving a work based supervisor and the completion of worksheets.
The course is available to anyone. Members of FIFA and AFSA are eligible for a discount on course costs.
